Total Time: 35 Minutes
Ingredients
- 250g paneer, cut into cubes
- 2 onions, chopped
- 10–12 cashews
- 2 green cardamoms
- 2 dried red chillies
- 1 small piece butter
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp chilli powder
- Salt, as per taste
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tbsp thick cream
- 1 tsp kasuri methi (dried fenugreek leaves)
- Raisins, for garnish
Method
Step 1: Prepare the Onion & Cashew Base

Fry the chopped onions in a little oil until golden brown.
Boil the cashews in water for about 3 minutes. Drain and blend them together with the fried onions to make a smooth creamy paste.

Step 2: Cook the Masala
Heat butter in a pan. Add green cardamom and dried red chillies.
Add the onion-cashew paste and cook for 1–2 minutes on medium heat.

Step 3: Add Spices & Milk
Mix in salt, coriander powder, and chilli powder. Stir well.
Pour in the milk and let it simmer gently for about 5 minutes until creamy and smooth.
Step 4: Finish the Curry
Add thick cream and cook for another minute.
Now add the paneer cubes and crushed kasuri methi. Simmer for 1–2 minutes so the paneer absorbs all the flavours.
Step 5: Garnish & Serve
Garnish with raisins and serve hot with naan, roti, or jeera rice.
Serving Suggestion
This creamy butter paneer tastes best with garlic naan or soft tandoori roti. Perfect for family dinners, weekend comfort meals, or special gatherings.
