Menopause was not something I truly understood until my own body forced me to stop and listen. In my early 40s, after years of dealing with uterus issues, excessive bleeding, polyps, fibroids, hormonal changes, and ongoing health concerns, I went through surgical menopause. Before that, I had already been experiencing symptoms of perimenopause for a couple of years without fully realizing what was happening to my body.
This journey has been emotional, confusing, painful, and at times lonely. Along with the physical symptoms came exhaustion, weight gain, hair loss, hot flushes, mood changes, anxiety, and the mental load of still trying to show up every day for family, work, and responsibilities.
I learned how important it is for women to speak openly about symptoms we are often told to ignore. Too many women suffer silently, feeling unheard or dismissed while navigating major changes in their bodies and lives.
I am sharing this part of my life not as a medical expert, but as a woman, mother, migrant, and everyday person navigating real experiences while trying to heal, learn, and keep moving forward.
Through this space, I hope to create honest conversations around menopause, women’s health, self-care, resilience, and the importance of listening to our bodies. If my story helps even one woman feel less alone, more informed, or encouraged to seek help earlier, then sharing it is worth it.
Welcome to this journey with me.
